![]() The Sims remaster would be nice since people are requesting The Sims to be re-released. Since we can't get Sims 2 UC because EA decided not to have Aspyr port the full run of the series, I'm glad we got the remastered version. Personally, I'm glad Aspyr has even remastered these games for us as they were the ones who ported the code in the first place. What do you think about it? Sure there's The Sims 3 and The Sims 4 but some Simmers might want The Sims 2 and even The Sims. ![]() I don't know if I should feel sad or angry that while Mac users can buy it, PC users (or Mac users on Boot Camp) will have to resort to disc copies. ![]() Also I noticed that the Mac versions of The Sims Stories are cheaper than the PC versions. I'm guessing why The Sims Stories is cheaper than The Sims 2 games is probably because they aren't in high demand as The Sims 2 games were. Also all 3 Sims Stories games are expensive to buy New ( §30 for Life Stories, §29 for Pet Stories, and §66+ to buy a new copy of Castaway Stories) although not as bad compared to The Sims 2 games, nearly every Sims 2 PC game is expensive new. The problem is while Life Stories and Pet Stories are easy to buy used on Amazon, Castaway Stories costs §22+ used. I don't even know if EA has plans or not to re-sell The Sims 2 and The Sims Stories games, only The Sims 3, Medieval, and 4 are currently sold on Origin. I don't have problems with Macs or even OS X but it makes me upset that The Sims 2, The Sims Life Stories and The Sims Castaway Stories are only re-released on Mac while there's no confirmation of a Windows version. As of August 2014, that code doesn't work so Windows users will have to get used copies (unless they want to pay a very high price for new copies) or attempt to contact EA to get the UC. Aspyr has released The Sims 2 Super Collection on the Mac App Store but no Windows version has available except for the promotion in July 2014 where users could use a code to get TS2 UC. Likewise as of July 2013, The Sims 2 for Windows is no longer sold on Origin so PC (or Boot Camp) users who want The Sims 2 will have to get cheap used CD/DVD copies off of Amazon or try to contact EA to get The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection. As of 2012, EA removed The Sims Stories games off of Origin so anyone who doesn't own a download version of said games will have to get DVD versions. I don't think it's fair that Mac users can buy the game but Windows users can't. The Sims Stories games are a spin-off of The Sims 2 which are stand-alone games, they have a story mode (Life and Pet Stories have 12 chapters within 2 stories while Castaway Stories has 1 story spanning 24 chapters) and a Free Play mode similar to the modes found in The Sims, The Sims Bustin' Out, and The Sims 2 console games. I assume most Simmers might not be familiar with The Sims Stories so I'll explain it. EA usually omits a number in spin-off titles such as The Sims Stories, The Sims Medieval, and The Sims FreePlay although exceptions did apply to two console titles, The Sims 2 Castaway and The Sims 2 Apartment Pets for the Nintendo DS. I noticed that for some reason, Aspyr calls them The Sims 2 Stories contrary to the Windows and original Mac OS X version where it was titled The Sims Stories. Also, Aspyr has released The Sims Life Stories and later The Sims Castaway Stories. This week, The Sims 4 Get Together as well as version 1.13 have been released. There wasn't a Sims 2 Mac Discussion so I posted in this Mac discussions. It seems the Sims Pet Stories has been released on December 17.
